Last night at midnight (because we are nerds-embrace it) Husband, Me, KitKat and The Yeti all went to see the new Harry Potter movie.
And you guys?
Awesome. AWE-SOME. Like 10 billion hot dogs kind of awesome.
And not just because we four are GINORMOUS Harry Potter dorks who really honest to goodness would go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry if that were an actual possibility, but it was for real a great, great, exciting and shockingly well-acted film.
I mean Daniel Radcliffe just acted his little heart out. And I bought it hook line and SINKER.
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOK 5 AND YOU LIVE IN A CAVE, THE FOLLOWING WILL SPOIL YOU:
Of course, I began crying uncontrollably the moment Gary Oldman comes on screen because I was anticipating the inevitable, horrible, gut wrenching death of Sirius Black. It's slightly more horrible because he's played by Gary Oldman. And I am just never OK with killing Gary Oldman. Even when he's the super duper evil mega villain, I'm sort of like...rooting for him in secret. Like in "Air Force One." I mean, Harrison Ford was all GET OFF MY PLANE and I'm all, this bitch is Gary Oldman's plane HAN SOLO.
Ok, and Helena Bonham Carter? SO FUCKING FIERCE as Bellatrix LeStrange. I mean, she is literally in it for a combined total of 10 minutes. But she just ROCKED those ten minutes. In fact, I wish her and Gary Oldman like, lived in my basement (if I had a basement) and I could just go down there and we three could have tea and they could help me work on my British accent and we would smoke very thin hand-rolled cigarettes and talk about how Gary Oldman has "crossed oceans of time" just to be with me and Helena could give me tips on how to look pale, lovely and mysterious. And then Helena could be all, "Oh! I hope you don't mind but I invited Johnny over for tea this afternoon. He was just DYING to dress like a pirate and make out with you."
Anyway, the movie was totally worth the cash and don't listen to jerkwads who say they cut out too much, because they did, but it totally works. And I'm a librarian and a stickler for like...words and stuff...and I'm good with it.
