There's nothing like a 4 hour meeting to get you going.
JEEEEEEBUS! Librarians just LOOOOVE to hear themselves talk, while accomplishing nothing.
Where did this title come from you ask? Well, last night Babs and I were driving home from Los Librarita, and it was like PRIME tornado weather and shit. And there is like this HELL-A-CIOUS cloud over the interstate that literally looks like fucking War of the Worlds or some shit. Like it is SCARY right? And we start talking about how it looks like the sky has opened up and there's like a tear in the universe...and I'm all "maybe DRAGONS will fly out" and then we can call in sick to work:
Babs: The sky is full of dragons? I won't be able to make it to work today.
And I mean, we are coming up with TONS of Dragon-related scenarios such as stocking the library with books on "Dragon Avoidance" and "The Care and Feeding of Your Space Dragon" etc., and we are laughing to the point of ridiculousness...and I'm just wishing to high-heaven that this story translated well to the blogosphere, because it was a serious crack up.
But it doesn't. So um...yeah. You had to be there? I dunno.
SPACE DRAGONS! RWWWWARRR!
So...last night, I realize that nothing in the world will make as happy as RICE KRISPIE TREATS. So I made some. And by "made some" I mean, got melted marshmallow all over my sweater, in my hair, and on the floor...as well as accidentally setting fire to one right next to the burner so that it became this tiny mountain of marshmallow ash that is forever burned onto the stove top. Seriously. WHO HAS THIS MUCH TROUBLE with RICE FREAKING KRISPIE TREATS. It was amazing. Sad and amazing.
Also, last night, whilst I was ironing my super fabulous and trendy librarian outfit to wear to work today, I sort of accidentally turned on "Lost."
Now, you guys may remember MANY MOONS AGO when I doted on "Lost" with religious fervor and blogged about it regularly. But then...I mean...I just got SO PISSED and SO CONFUSED that I want to make it esplooode. Then, you may remember that I got BACK into it for like a second because when I first met Lurrrver17 I was afraid we'd have nothing to talk about EXCEPT "Lost". Then I swiftly gave up again...especially when I discovered that Lurrrver17 and I could exist almost solely on "that's what SHE said" jokes and hugs. (It's because he's made of unicorn dust and sparkles.)
But last night's episode? Even without having ANY IDEA what the hell was going on? Was pretty much frackin' amazing. I'm re-hooked. I mean, I started watching episodes online last night. Also...this? HYSTERICAL.
Other things that are hysterical....the fact that the computer are ENTIRELY down today. So that when people ask me if I can tell them if we have a book...all I can say is...NO. I can't actually. I can tell you where it would be if we DID have it. Then they glare at me, cursing me for the useless thing that I am, and long for the days of the giant card catalog filled with index cards.
It's a feel good kinda day. Really.
